Latitude / Longitude: 56 degrees 31.84N  -  5 degrees 18.88’ W  (WGS84) In 2006, 50 swinging moorings were installed and this will increase to 100 as demand exceeds the initial 50 moorings. The deep-water swinging moorings are in a minimum depth of 6 metres and are laid in trots. They consist of 54mm ground chain secured by 3 tonne concrete blocks throughout their length. 7 metre, 32mm surge chain is shackled onto the ground chain at 30m centres.  A 32mm rope riser is shackled to the surge chain at a “trawl” buoy and this chain is attached to a surface buoy. The moorings are suitable for vessels up to 15m in length or 15 tonnes gross weight. All the moorings are professionally inspected  and serviced by a 3rd party specialist. Barcaldine Marine has designated visitor moorings and these buoys are numbered: D5, D6, D7, E5, E6, E7. We do not permit anything other than unpolluted water to be drained at the moorings Slippage and Storage : The yard has a capability of slipping and storage of craft up to 15 tonnes displacement and 4.26m beam. Tariffs include slipping, scrubbing off, cradling in the yard and all year round storage, routine checks of the vessel and re-launching. A NEW short stay pontoon was installed during spring 2010, which provides 6 deep water berths for loading and watering. It is close to the car and dinghy parking, and at the closest shore position to the moorings.
